ArtPlay announces the release of the ultimate update, Version 1.5, for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Launching on May 9th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and on May 16th for Nintendo Switch, this update brings highly anticipated features to fans of the acclaimed title.
Included in this final installment are the eagerly awaited Chaos and Versus modes. Chaos mode allows players to either team up locally or online to navigate through randomly generated rooms teeming with diverse adversaries and formidable bosses, acquiring enhancements along the way.
Versus mode introduces a competitive twist where each participant combats successive waves of enemies. Players can collect Souls to enhance their weapons and armor. Additionally, they can deploy tactics that complicate their opponent's gameplay, such as introducing fog or inverting controls. The last gamer standing is deemed the winner. This mode supports both local and online battles, though cross-platform play is not enabled.
Furthermore, Version 1.5 includes three premium cosmetic packs and one free pack, which features a unique costume allowing the main character, Miriam, to don attire inspired by Shantae, the beloved character from WayForward’s iconic platformer series.
While this update marks the conclusion of the game's development cycle, ArtPlay continues to work on an upcoming premium DLC titled Classic 2: Dominique’s Curse, though the release timeline remains unspecified. This final wave of content ensures that players have plenty to look forward to as they dive back into Bloodstained's mystical and challenging world.
